“Nabeshima” pottery was developed in order to be presented by the Saga Nabeshima Clan to the family of the Shogun. The pottery in this style, based around underglaze blue, red, yellow and green, is called “Iro-Nabeshima”. As hemp leaves grow quickly, the design represents a wish for growth and prosperity.
About the product photos
Our online store’s product pages show multiple photos. However, the product delivered to our customers corresponds to the contents shown in the first photo.
Photographs showing multiple items of the same product lined up or stacked together, or taken with other products, are shown solely for reference and are not intended to correspond to the contents of our product offering.
Each product is individually handcrafted by artisans. As such, their dimension, shape, color, patterns, etc. may have some individual variation resulting from the way in which the pottery was fired and the precise raw materials that were used. Although we inspect each of our products to ensure the satisfaction of our customers, we ask for your understanding regarding the fact that different color depths and small splotches of paint and distortions in the products’ shape that do not affect their use are part of their characteristics. In addition, please note that the colors and textures of the actual products may differ slightly from what is visible on the screen, depending on the monitor environment and the browser used.
