<The finest of handmade craftsmanship, the elegance of the foil pattern>>.
The beautiful colors of vermilion, a color loved by the Japanese people since ancient times, are decorated with persimmon tannin.
Shimane madake bamboo and Tosa Japanese paper. Each piece is handmade by craftsmen using traditional techniques.
Applying persimmon tannin to washi is a traditional technique that has been handed down since the Heian period (794-1192). It is so strong that it was once used to make paper garments and Japanese umbrellas. Craftsmen painstakingly apply layers of this persimmon tannin by hand. Kakishibu is said to become more beautiful as it ages, and the more it is used, the more it tastes better. The beautiful luster of the fan paper, which is only possible with persimmon tannin, and the bamboo shaft with foil maki-e applied by a foil craftsman give it a Japanese “iki” (style) look.
This fan is also beautiful as a decorative fan. It can be used as a special one for yourself. It is also appreciated as a gift.
