【History of the product】

Kanazawa's 450-year tradition of gold leaf Kanazawa accounts for more than 98% of Japan's gold leaf production.

Gold leaf is used for temples and shrines of great historical value, such as Kinkakuji Temple and Nikko Toshogu Shrine, as well as for lacquerware, pottery, and various other crafts. Gold leaf has developed along with 36 other traditional crafts that have been handed down since the time of Lord Toshiie Maeda, the founder of the Kaga Domain. Kanazawa foil, which was a material, is now recognized as a Kanazawa foil craft today and has established itself as a representative traditional craft in the craft kingdom of Kanazawa."

 【Features and Design】

"Tableware that looks like a starry sky Kitora Tumulus is said to be the world's oldest sky map.

The stars of the sky map drawn on the ceiling of the stone chamber are expressed in gold leaf. Inspired by that graceful constellation, we have revived the eternal sparkle of the stars with Hakuichi's craftsmanship and modern design concept.

【Usage and how to use it】

"Until a sliver of brilliance is born.

Gold leaf is approximately 1/10,000 to 2 mm thin. It is so thin that approximately 2g of gold can be stretched to the size of a tatami mat. To stretch it to the ultimate thinness, all kinds of factors are required, including excellent craftsmanship, paper preparation that is said to affect gold leaf production, and a climate suitable for gold leaf production.
